Djehuty Devotional, by Al Cummins

hear us oh Djehuty
ibis-headed Lord of Divine Words
Scribe of Ma’at in the Company of the Gods
true author of every work of every branch of knowledge, both human and divine

great Djehuty
inventor of language
architect of all sciences
reckoner of times and seasons
who made those calculations which established the heavens, and the stars, and the Earth
sage god of magic

great Djehuty
self-begotten and self-produced
secretary of the underworld
husband of Seshat, Mistress of the House of Books
who judges the dead and imparts the formula of resurrection
profound god of the silver moon

great Djehuty
healer of underdogs
wise counsel and persuader
overseer of the battles of order and chaos
who bears the United Crowns of the Upper and Lower Kingdoms
enlightened god of equilibrium and arbitration

thrice great Djehuty
ruler of the intelligence of the soul
principle of the higher mind
the incarnated thought
the living word

We are thy writing palette, O Djehuty
and we have brought unto thee thine ink-jar.

We are not of those who work iniquity in their secret places;
let not evil happen unto us.
